LitFin pursues truck cartel claim in Germany

LitFin is leading a truck cartel class action in the Netherlands, where it submitted claims for companies that bought or leased heavy or medium-duty trucks from the manufacturers Daimler, MAN, Volvo / Renault, DAF, Iveco, or Scania between 10/2005 and 12/2014. The class action alleges that, between 1997 and 2011, the manufacturers made agreements in violation of antitrust law on prices and gross price increases for the heavy and medium-duty trucks they manufactured and sold in the European economic area. The claims are likely time-barred under Dutch law, so LitFin has decided to initiate the lawsuit in Germany.

LitFin backs construction cartel claims in Austria

LitFin is funding the pursuit of claims against Austrian construction companies STRABAG AG and the PORR Group for their alleged participation in a ‘construction cartel.’ Austrian commercial law firm Brand Rechtsanwälte GmbH will be responsible for examining and enforcing the claims for damages. It is expected that a first instance claim will take between 1-3 years to receive a decision from a court.
