Judge Tosses $203M Korean IP Litigation Funding Row

A claim that KIP Co. and litigation funder Paulina Funding improperly diverted a $203 million damages judgment which Samsung was ordered to pay for the infringement of semiconductor technology has been dismissed by the Wisconsin District Court on the basis that Wisconsin is not the most convenient venue for the dispute.

Liverpool-based Next Gen Solicitors, a no-win, no-fee law firm specialising in financial mis-selling cases, tenancy deposit disputes, and mis-sold pensions and car finance, has filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator, granting it a 10-day reprieve from its creditors, including litigation funder Fenchurch Legal, which holds fixed and floating charges over the law firm’s assets.
