Counsel Financial Services and California Attorney Lending II, US-based litigation funders, have been sued by the Chapter 7 trustee who is handling the bankruptcy of Girardi Keese, the law firm founded by disgraced and disbarred 83-year-old lawyer Thomas Girardi. The funders are alleged to have been co-conspirators in Girardi’s ponzi scheme, and may be left holding the proverbial bag given the law firm’s bankruptcy. Read more.
