Barings upbeat despite £22m annual loss

Claims firm Barings Law reported a £22 million pre-tax loss and £46 million of net liabilities for the year to March 2025 as it continued funding a large volume-litigation portfolio, with £59.4 million of loans from Claim Finance & Administration carrying interest of 28% to 37%, while the firm now expects the Angel motor finance ruling to unlock significant revenue and is negotiating a debt-for-equity restructuring of its litigation funding facilities to cut interest costs.
