Bogus Claims Threaten to Taint Lejeune Toxic Water Payouts

A wave of fraudulent claims is threatening to taint Camp Lejeune toxic water payouts in what could be one of the largest-ever mass tort cases, with a Texas law firm with 6,000 Camp Lejeune clients saying its internal auditors determined hundreds of referrals from other lawyers were bogus, often based on doctored medical records and fictional reports of diseases or other sickness, and with some even being recruited through call centres based in India.
