Britain’s legal industry plagued by £2.2bn of dark money

Civitas is calling for a mandatory register of litigation fund owners after reporting that third-party litigation funding in the UK grew from about £198 million in 2011 to £2.2 billion in 2022, arguing that courts, defendants and claimants can lack visibility into the ultimate sources of capital backing claims.
