Burford Capital seeks to buy equity stakes in US law firms

Burford is in talks to potentially buy minority stakes in several US law firms through an “MSO model”, which proponents say can operate as a workaround across all states in the US (other than Arizona) where non-lawyer ownership of law firms is not allowed.
