Burford litigation funder's Carina Ventures sues US turkey suppliers in antitrust case

Burford subsidiary Carina Ventures has sued major US turkey producers for alleged price-fixing in a Texas federal court after taking over the case from Sysco in a confidential settlement, while Sysco's assignment of rights to Carina is facing opposition in Chicago and Minneapolis federal courts, where antitrust cases involving pork, beef and chicken are pending.
