Class Actions: taxi drivers rail against ‘token’ Uber settlement
Queensland Taxi Licence Owner’s Association boss Paul Scaini is complaining that the compensation received by plaintiff taxi drivers in a class action against Uber is “woefully unfair” after accounting for legal fees and the funder’s cut, but Mr Scaini also acknowledges that without the law firm and the funder, the plaintiffs would likely not have had the capacity to hold Uber to account.
