Comments on Third-Party Litigation Funding

The US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform has urged Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to target the tax treatment of third-party litigation funding, alleging that domestic and foreign funders can structure investments to pay little or no tax on profits while also raising concerns about transparency, foreign capital and funder influence over litigation.
