Court orders costs budgeting in £340m Black Cab Drivers v Uber claim brought by Mishcon

Richard Leedham, Hazel Chambers and Josh Goodman of Mishcon de Reya reveal that the High Court has issued a rare costs budgeting order in the £340 million group claim brought by more than 13,000 black cab drivers against Uber, with Mrs Justice O’Farrell departing from the usual practice that claims exceeding £340 million fall outside budgeting and instead requiring budgets so the claimants could monitor their exposure and safeguard their ATE cover against escalating defence costs.
