‘Cunning and deceitful’ convicted fraudster working at top legal firm

A disqualified Sydney lawyer who was jailed for defrauding a client of approximately $133,000 has returned to work at a law firm despite losing her practising certificate, raising fresh scrutiny of allegations that she previously submitted falsified medical and expert invoices to litigation financier Legal Pay in 2021 to obtain funding for inflated or already-paid expenses, prompting a complaint to the NSW Legal Services Commissioner and contributing to the suspension of her practising certificate.
