Edenreach, Burgundy partner to fund litigation targeting online platforms
New partnership will initially focus on claims involving exploitation and digital harms in the adult content industry

Edenreach, a justice finance platform connecting litigation claimants with mission-driven investors, has entered into a strategic partnership with Burgundy, a special situations investigation and advisory firm, to identify and fund legal claims that seek to deliver both financial returns and broader societal benefits. Announced on 5 October, the collaboration will initially focus on claims against online content and social media platforms, particularly those involving alleged exploitation and abuse in the adult content creation industry.
Gabriel Olearnik, founder and chief investment officer of Burgundy, said the firms have already identified potential cases involving allegations that content creators were deprived of earnings, pressured into unwanted sexual activity and exploited by managers operating on behalf of major online businesses. He also pointed to allegations that individuals employed as "chatters" impersonated content creators in direct messages to induce customers to spend money. The partnership aims to secure compensation for affected individuals while addressing broader practices within the industry.
Edenreach, co-founded by Kayee Cheung, seeks to attract impact investors, philanthropists and other mission-aligned capital providers to litigation that traditional commercial funders may decline because of their return requirements. The platform promotes a "dual return" model combining financial recovery with measurable social outcomes, potentially enabling claims to proceed where investors are willing to accept lower returns or greater legal uncertainty. Cheung said the challenge is not a shortage of available capital but connecting it with suitable cases, estimating that US$3.3 trillion is already allocated globally to mission-aligned investments.
