ESKARIAM Lands €50 Million Credit Facility From Victory Park Capital

ESKARIAM, a Madrid-based law firm focused on complex damages litigation, has secured a €50 million senior secured credit facility from US private credit manager Victory Park Capital, underscoring growing institutional appetite for financing claimant-side legal platforms in Europe.
The facility is intended to support ESKARIAM’s expansion in Spain’s fast-developing damages claims market, funding litigation team growth, technology investment and case prosecution as the firm targets €3.5 billion in claims under management by 2030.
ESKARIAM said it currently manages more than €1.5 billion in claims on behalf of thousands of affected parties, including businesses and public institutions, primarily in competition disputes involving major multinational companies.
The financing is structured as an asset-backed lending facility with bespoke terms tailored to ESKARIAM’s operating model. David Fernández, chief executive of ESKARIAM, said the transaction validates the platform the firm has built since 2018 and gives it the financial depth to pursue cases for as long as required.
Hugo Lestiboudois, a principal at Victory Park Capital, said ESKARIAM had developed a differentiated platform with a proven recovery track record, strong infrastructure and a portfolio of claims backed by enforceable rights against solvent counterparties.
He said the investment aligns with Victory Park Capital’s strategy of targeting sectors where institutional capital remains limited but downside protection can be achieved through careful structuring.
Lestiboudois added that the European legal services sector is maturing rapidly and presents a long-term opportunity for capital deployment alongside market-leading platforms.
The transaction also points to Spain’s emergence as a significant venue for collective and follow-on damages actions, particularly in competition matters.
ESKARIAM said it is currently leading claims involving Booking.com and Spain’s Milk Cartel litigation, among other matters.
