Firms take triple what they promised in huge BHP settlement

The Australian Federal Court approved plaintiff law firms Maurice Blackburn and Phi Finney McDonald lifting their share of a $110 million BHP shareholder settlement to about $48 million despite judicial concern over excess legal fees. The litigation funder in the case will take just $2.4 million in commissions.
