Florida Senate panel advances litigation funding bill

Florida lawmakers are moving closer to regulating third-party litigation funding after a Senate Judiciary Committee advanced a bill that would mandate disclosure of funding involving foreign individuals or entities, restrict funder control and economic upside, and empower courts to scrutinize funded class actions.
