Groups call for investigation into NY state pension funds over possible ties to ‘predatory’ legal lenders

A coalition representing business, labor and government is calling for an investigation into whether their pension funds are investing in hedge funds that profit off of legal lending, recommending “a thorough examination of New York’s pension exposure to these predatory practices”, potentially followed by a full divestment of the pension funds from third-party litigation funders.
