High Court dismisses claim against Uber by 13,000 black cab drivers on limitation grounds

Rachel Lidgate, Alan Watts and the team at HSF Kramer report that the English High Court has dismissed claims brought by approximately 13,000 London black cab drivers against Uber as time-barred, ruling that the claimants could have discovered the alleged wrongdoing through publicly available information more than six years before proceedings were issued in 2024, in a significant setback for litigation originally backed by Harbour Litigation Funding, which withdrew in 2019, and a reminder that limitation periods cannot be extended simply because claimants have yet to obtain legal advice or assess the commercial viability of their claims.
