Lawyers and funders to take £34m haircut in Google settlement

New detail has emerged on the £260 million Google settlement. Bench Walk originally committed £16.5 million to the case, later increasing that to £27.7 million as the litigation developed. Under the revised settlement terms, lawyers, the funder and insurers agreed to accept £100 million against a £134 million contractual entitlement, leaving £160 million for the class, with Bench Walk's return coming out to 2.99 times its outlay.
