Lawyers: Pledge to protect litigation funding welcome – but devil’s in the detail

Lawyers have welcomed UK Justice Secretary Alex Chalk’s comments that he plans to reverse “the damaging effects” of PACCAR “at the first legislative opportunity”, but they are highlighting that the key question now is how far the government will go in reversing the PACCAR judgment, since proposals so far have been limited to opt-out competition collective actions.
