Litigation financing – when others pay your legal bill

Canadian mining companies are increasingly turning to litigation funding to finance legal battles, according to Paul Rand, managing director and chief investment officer for Omni Bridgeway Canada, who describes how the funder is financing a claim by Vancouver’s Montero Mining and Exploration against the Government of Tanzania over an expropriated rare earth mineral claim.
