Litigation funding is redefining access to justice in Europe

Cristina Soler of RAMCO Litigation Funding says Spain’s litigation finance market has grown rapidly since funders entered in 2017, driven by competition damages claims, arbitration, construction, infrastructure and energy disputes, with Spain now an established European funding jurisdiction where regulation by arbitral institutions, representative action reforms and flexible structures such as claim monetisation and portfolio funding are helping entrench funders as mainstream dispute resolution players.
