Loopa Finance Joins ELFA as New Member

Madrid-based funder adds cross-border strength as it deepens operations in Europe

Loopa Finance has joined the European Litigation Funders Association (ELFA), the Brussels-based body representing the litigation funding industry across the continent, the firm announced Sept. 16.

Founded in Latin America and now active across Spain, France, Italy, Germany, and Portugal, Loopa provides funding models that range from full coverage of legal costs to hybrid structures, as well as monetization options that allow corporates and law firms to free up capital and manage risk. The company rebranded from Qanlex earlier this year and uses its own capital, supported by an interdisciplinary team that blends legal, financial, and technology expertise.

“At Loopa, we believe justice should not depend on available capital,” said Ignacio Delgado, the firm’s general counsel for Europe. “Our membership in ELFA reflects that vision and the way we operate: combining legal judgment, financial discipline, and technology to support meritorious cases under strict ethical and transparency standards.” Delgado will represent Loopa within ELFA.

In Spain, Loopa has backed matters ranging from commercial disputes to litigation against the State, and the firm emphasizes speed in its process—aiming to deliver funding proposals within a few weeks once full case details are in hand.

ELFA, founded in 2022, has introduced a Code of Conduct and positioned itself as a counterpart for regulators and professional associations. It now counts many of Europe’s largest funders as members.

“ELFA continues to attract leading litigation funders and other stakeholders in legal finance who are committed to advancing its mission and objectives,” said Charles Demoulin, ELFA director and Deminor chief investment officer. “With roots in Latin America and an expanding presence in Europe, Loopa Finance brings a valuable intercontinental dimension to our membership. By leveraging technology in innovative ways, Loopa Finance also contributes a fresh and dynamic perspective to the sector.”

Loopa’s addition highlights both ELFA’s expanding membership and the increasingly close ties between European and Latin American legal finance markets.
