Major Companies Demand Litigation Funding Disclosure From Courts

More than 200 companies and insurers have asked US court administrators to write funding disclosure into the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Signatories include Johnson & Johnson, 3M, Uber, Meta, Netflix and Samsung. Their letter asks for the names of funders and copies of the funding agreements. The Advisory Committee on Civil Rules meets in October. Its litigation funding subcommittee, chaired by Judge R. David Proctor, has studied the issue since 2024.
