McGowan denies WA grants overheated housing market as BGC closes books to new sales

West Australian Premier Mark McGowan has rejected claims the state government was partially responsible for overheating the residential construction sector through its uncapped building bonus – which contributed to a rush of new home sales and delays in finishing homes – while a statement issued by Morgan Alteruthemeyer Law Group revealed that the firm is in confidential discussions with litigation funders to fund the claim on behalf of more than 600 pre-qualified parties relating to thousands of delayed home builds.
