Montana enacts the “Litigation Financing Transparency and Consumer Protection Act”; Indiana Joins March Toward Disclosure of Third-Party Litigation Funding Deals; Calif. Lawsuit Funding Bill Slashed After Industry Pushback

Both Montana and Indiana have enacted laws regulating litigation funding and requiring disclosure of third-party litigation funding in lawsuits, while a California bill that originally required disclosure of third-party litigation funding in all lawsuits in California state courts has been watered down into a new version which would require disclosure only if ordered by a judge.
