New litigation fund gains by focusing on small claims

Katch Investment Group reports that its litigation fund has achieved a return of almost 16% in 2021, according to an interview with Opalesque.

The $56m fund, launched in September 2020, focuses on small-size, short-duration individual claims centred around financial sector redress, though it also funds larger group claims and insolvency practitioner claims. The typical loan size is £5m ($6.7m) and the typical duration is one to one and a half years.

The fund is expected to double its AUM in the next 12 months and increase the number of funded claims from its current level of 5,000 to 8,000+.
