“No need” for stricter rules on litigation funding

There is “no need” for stricter regulation of third-party litigation in the European Union, according to the BEUC, an umbrella group of 44 independent consumer organisations in both the EU and the UK, which is cautioning that overly restrictive measures could deter funders from taking on riskier cases, leading them to select cases more carefully and reducing the availability of funds.
