Pogust Goodhead wins fight to retain control of £36bn Mariana litigation

The High Court of England and Wales has ruled against a claimant committee seeking to replace Pogust Goodhead with Bailey Glasser International in the £36 billion Mariana dam litigation, finding that the committee lacked authority to terminate retainers on behalf of more than 400,000 claimants, while raising concerns that doing so could expose claimants to approximately £2 billion in legal costs and jeopardise existing litigation insurance arrangements.
