Our Post Office victory is being twisted by those who don’t want to see its like again

Alan Bates warns of a “concerted effort by big business to constrain access to litigation funding”, taking aim at the Fair Civil Justice campaign for promoting “nonsensical” claims that the funders who bankrolled the subpostmasters case “hijacked the spoils” of the settlement and “severely limited the justice achieved”. Mr Bates reveals that the terms of the deal were clearly explained to the subpostmasters by their lawyers, Therium extended their credit on a number of occasions when the Post Office drove up legal costs, and Therium and their lawyers even took a haircut on their returns to ensure a fair outcome.
