Reform of French class actions: towards more accessible collective justice

Emmanuelle van den Broucke, Suzane Darkazanli and Margaux Serra of Dentons share that France has overhauled its class action regime effective May 2025 by expanding standing, damages, and scope to include business-to-business claims, centralising jurisdiction, and expressly permitting regulated third-party litigation funding, a shift expected to increase collective litigation exposure while improving access to justice.
