U.S. lenders sue Jeff Rath for $112M, allege he concealed First Nation firing

US litigation funders Diriba Investments and Western Springs Investments have sued Alberta lawyer Jeffrey Rath and his firm RathPC for $112.56 million, alleging they concealed their dismissal from a First Nations lawsuit while continuing to receive funding under a $25 million agreement providing annual compounded returns of 25% to 35% plus 5% of net proceeds, with the funders now seeking to enforce contractual rights over litigation recoveries and outstanding legal fees amid separate proceedings involving allegations of misappropriated First Nations trust funds and a court-ordered asset freeze.
