Unnamed funder backs David v Goliath claim against Volkswagen

An unnamed funder is backing a true David v Goliath claim brought in the Hamburg District Court by IDENTYTEC, a family-run, medium-sized company which provides automatic solutions for replenishment control in the manufacturing industry, against Volkswagen, its former customer.

The claim relates to Volkswagen’s “ID.” series. IDENTYTEC states that it has been using the acronym “ID.” in various forms for over 15 years and has registered a large number of trademarks with this initial component. It claims that Volkswagen’s “ID.” series violates these trademarks.
